Complete Coverage: AMSOIL European Motor Oil meets and often exceeds strict European manufacturer specifications. Its shear-stable synthetic base oils and high-quality anti-wear additives provide outstanding protection in high-temperature conditions and deliver dependable performance throughout the long drain intervals recommended by European manufacturers.

Emissions System Protection
AMSOIL European Motor Oil features precisely balanced formulations that consider the needs of modern exhaust treatment devices. Protecting sensitive emissions systems depends on using the optimal blend of SAPS (sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur). AMSOIL European Motor Oil is carefully crafted in six varieties to ensure proper emissions system function.

Superior Engine Cleanliness
The excellent oxidation stability, heat resistance and detergency properties of AMSOIL European Car Formula help keep engines clean. It is specially designed to prevent sludge and varnish deposits, reduce oil consumption, extend engine life and provide maximum overall performance.

All-Season Performance
The broad 5W-40 viscosity rating, low volatility (burn-off) and wax-free nature of AMSOIL European Car Formula make it excellent for hot and cold temperatures. It helps reduce engine wear, control oil thickening and provide easier cold starts.

Excellent For Turbochargers
AMSOIL European Car Formula has a robust composition that shields engines from the high temperatures produced by turbochargers. Its thermally stable oil formulation resists deposit formation and cools turbochargers. Its low pour point protects turbo-chargers against oil starvation in subzero temperatures and ensures a rapid return to appropriate oil pressure at startup.

Service Life
Recommended for the extended drain intervals established by the vehicle manufacturer. Change oil filter at time of oil change.

COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL European Car Formula Synthetic Motor Oil is compatible with other synthetic and conventional motor oils. Mixing AMSOIL motor oil with other oils, however, will shorten the oil's life expectancy and reduce its performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where oils have been mixed.

Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL motor oils.

2014 cruze diesel. 6.1 L/100km average. 70 city 30 highway
Second oil change with this product performs well.averaged 4.1L/100km all highway. Will see how it hold up too 6 months of winter in mid northern Canada.
Price point is better the near competitor's oil which is penzoil euro l will see if if cold stars are better and will write another reveiw

I buy Amsoil based on product performance. When I read the comparison to other quality oils Amsoil stands out ahead of the others. I would like to see a comparison to Liqui Moly, a German made product that seems at least equal to Amsoil.

Buy again, no DSG

I would definitely purchase this product again and have for the last 3 years. The problem that I'm running into is that you sell the lubricate for my DSG transmission, but no filter. I can't in good faith buy oil that is 135.00 w/o a filter so I went to another company. I was hoping to have all Amsoil in the car, but I guess I won't.

I used this for my 2013 Audi Q5 3.0t. I couldn't be happier with Amsoil! I've seen an increase in gas mileage (appox. 2-3mpg) and I haven't had to add three quarts in between oil changes like I did with the manufacturer's suggested synthetic oil. Only thing I can complain about is that it isn't available at any auto parts stores.

Happy with the product, not happy with the process

I paid my Amsoil annual membership while inArizona this past winter and ordered some product. W(en I came back to Canada I sent an order to Toronto Canada and when it arrived I discovered that it came from the USA. This particular order of o8l and filter came in one shipment. This past week I received a "past due" notice for $27.00 and change. I contacted Amsoil and was told that the bill had been "split" and there was a balance remaining due. Not real happy about this process and it's not about the money, it's the principle.

Purchase this oil and oil filter for my turbo charged mini Cooper. I have used premium synthetic motor oil from different manufacturers for a long time. My VW TDI runs amazing with Amsoil European

It's always hard to find a quality American made oil that meets European Manufacturer oil standards. Amsoil European exceeds those standards. I trust this oil in both of my German diesels, a 2005 VW TDI and a 2009 BMW X5 35d. Even at -25* during the polar vortex of the Chicago winter this oil did it's job to protect my engines.

Great oil

Long time ago when I was using Mobil one (at leat 15 years ago) my friend was trying to convince me to switch to Amsoil. What made me switch is this guy has taken samples from two of his cars and mailed to the lab. The lab showed us that the car with Amsoil, 60k miles, and 6k on oil is estimated to be 20k car with 2k synthetic oil, while other sample was spot on. So I switched. And never had any engine failures, even in vehicles over 200k. The ESP keeps my diesel egr clean, while other oils in same engines cause lots of ash/carbon build up.

Amsoil is the best.

I have found in using Amsoil that with great protection also comes great gas mileage. When I made the switch, my gas mileage went from 31mpg to 35mpg. I'm also able to go longer between changes.

Excellent protection with long lasting lubricity

After 725,000 miles on my 2008 Dodge Sprinter 3.0 turbo diesel, I would Say Amsoil 5W30 European oil is doing its job !!! Van still runs like new and uses very little oil, maybe half quart between changes . (8000 miles)

my mechanic says amsoil is a religion - meaning good.
the other mechanic says i can go 7500 miles with this oil between changes no problem where he likes 5000 with other oils.
have 245000 miles on the tdi jetta does not use a drop of oil runs like new.

Amsoil believer

As an Amsoil Preferred Customer, I exclusively use European Car Formula 5W-40 in my Mercedes Benz Sprinter work van, as it meets the required MB specifications. I do so for the same reason I use the appropriate Amsoil products in the 38-year old Diesel engine in my commercially-operated boat, in my whole-house generator, my small engines, and in the generators and small engines I service for my customers. I use Amsoil lubricants because I know from long experience that engines supplied with Amsoil oils (and properly maintained in all other respects) enjoy a long, trouble-free life. I sold a '91 Aerostar with 348,000 miles on it-and the engine never needed oil between changes. Same with my '04 Astro van, sold in 2014 at 336,000 miles and still running now. Given the well-earned reputation for longevity of Mercedes Diesels and the high level of protection afforded by Amsoil European Car formula, I'm expecting an even longer life for the Sprinter's engine.

The Best oil on the Mkt.

I have been using AMSOIL , since 1974.When I first heard about AMS OIL. I put it in my 1972 cad. My CAD got over 500.000 miles till a push rod went bad. I all so put, it in the rear end all so in 1974. I never change the rear end oil in 30 years. In 1998 I got a jeep Grand Wagoneer. That week I started using AMS OIL European 5w-40w and AMS in the Trans, Transfer case, Rear end and front axle. It is now 2019 and jeep still runing.

Would Highly Reccomend Amsoil Products.

Bought a used BMW 2013 X3 28I F25 with 180000 miles on it. Switched from the BMW oil that the dealer was putting in it to the European 0W40 Amsoil and the engine is Happy. The valve train noise is much quieter and the performance and fuel mileage is better. The car just seems to be running better. Transmission oil change is next.
Will be installing Amsoil ATF OE.

I've been using this particular grade for the last decade and I'm very happy with the performance which it provides. Less burn out from blow by and greater performance with the turbo. The car has just over 200k miles and I can feel the get go every key turn I do . If you "drive it without mercy" this fluid will flow with the smile on your face. Amazing product for winter

The hydraulic lifters are known to be noisy in Mitsubishi cars. This oil was able to get to the lifters in -30C on a 25 year engine and help keep the engine quite.

This is my go to winter oil! I Highly recommend it.

I have become accustomed to Amsoil quality. I rarely use anything else. My last vehicle, a Toyota Sequoia, had 254,000 miles on it before I sold it because it was too big to accommodate my wife's back issue. Oil analysis showed minimum engine wear, less than the Audi Q7 that was purchased to replace it. My most recent vehicle is a Mercedes 350 GL BluTec diesel. With the assistance of the Technology department who recommended the European Car Formula 5W-40 Synthetic Oil, I was able to start using the the Amsoil product early in the vehicles life. Hopefully, I will be continue to enjoy the benefits of the Amsoil product in this vehicle for a long time.

Once again Amsoil delivers.

We currently are using this oil in a 2016 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 with the 2.1 liter diesel.
At first I was skeptical about using the same oil which we used in our VW Golf Sportwagen but either long road trips with or without a trailer behind the van the engine just hums along. No problems with noise or "clatter" like some Diesel engines have.
Always plenty of power, fantastic fuel economy, and other than the amount required for a semi annual oil service this oil is the best.
Now if I could just figure out how to add the bypass filter system from Amsoil we would rid ourselves of the extra soot in the oil!

Long commute. My Mercedes Diesel engine needs specific oil. Hard to find in the regular place and if quit expensive. Amsoil delivers to my front door all inclusive for a reasonable price. The European Car Formula 5W-40 Improved ESP Synthetic Motor Oil appears to do it's job, my CRD 3.0 engine is still going good at 270,000 km.
I hope I can do 500k, so I won't go with less good, cheaper oil.

0W-40 Euro Motor Oil

Have been using this in my turbo boosted BMW X5 F15 with great success. Engine uses zero perceptible oil during oil drains at 4,500 intervals. The oil's stability being an important factor. The 0W helps with cold starts and fuel efficiency. Happy to support an american company over the Castrol imported from German available only at dealer for $11. Liter.

Well worth the buck

Compared to Mercedes "stealer" ridiculous prices on this stuff andlack of other supplier it's cheap enough and works well. I don't bother with extended drain intervals as oils are much cheaper than fixes on those engines, on plus side need to note quite "not so dirty" turbo/egr after couple of years using it compared to wha it was when I got it... (ML320 CDI)

I've had a few cars over the years, studebaker, Ford, Jeep, Kia, and bmw to name a few. I've also used many brands of oil. Amsoil is the smoothest I've used. The cars run better, the engine is clean, and I've had better mileage due to the clean lubricating properties of the oil. I even put amsoil in my chainsaw, trimmer (mix with fuel) and lawn mowers. I also use their antifreeze In the car and pickup. Great product with no compromise

This is a great oil that protects and performs. I have used this on a VW TDI and now on the FCA 1.4L Turbo. I have never had a problem with the oil's performance on hot or cold days and even stands up to track day abuse. The engines will even run quieter with this oil compared to other brands.

Great for a Mini Cooper S

I run this in my 2002 Mini Cooper S (R53). After trying a few different brands the Amsoil seems the best as far as gas mileage, keeps the motor running a little cooler and no burn off of any oil. This is the only oil I'd use on this car.

From race bike to SUV

I started using Amsoil after a friend of mine who's racing cars told me about how he thought Amsoil had some of the best products around when it comes to lubrication. I started using it in my Aprilia RSV4 1000 cc race motorcycle. Not only are shifts smoother but overall the engine felt smoother and ran better. First oil change proved the oil to be in better condition and kept more viscosity than any oil I used before. I now use it in my Porsche Cayman S and SUV too with the same result and I can only say I trust Amsoil's products for all my lubrication, cooling and braking. Noticeable difference however requires top ups between changes. Using the factory pennzoil euro does not use any oil between changes. The difference in quality from the specs makes the extra oil from Amsoil usage acceptable.

Maintenance Guru

I run a fleet of diesel trucks from Mitsubishi box trucks to Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans and simply put there is not a better product line of maintenance products for vehicles. Personally, I recall one of the trucks coming back to me with with just 1 quart of oil left in it and the engine was still running great. To me that is all the testimony I need to believe.
Another little fact is that the first time I did use Amsoil was on my 2005 Mitsubishi 14' box truck and it went from getting 11 MPG to 14 MPG. I then put Amsoil in my personal gas engine vehicles and I did not see any difference in gas mileage. Regardless, I use it because it protects the most expensive parts in my vehicle, engine, transmission, brake, power steering etc...

I use this in my bmw with the 3.0 twin turbo,the normal coolant temp is 250 degreesF so the oil isn't far from that, Ive noticed better idling with this oil and it really does last 10,000 miles before needing changed

Average oil

I had this oil lab tested after 6,500 miles. Results were all excellent but one. The viscosity had been reduced from 40w to 30w. Consequently I had to change the oil at that time. I have a brand new car with a turbo charged engine.
I will try other oils as this oil is not worth the premium price.

Great for a turbo engine!

The engines in my car are know to be on the noisy side due to their lifter design. This oil has greatly helped in reducing the noise.
Also this oil tends to stay very clean even tho it's being used in a turbo engine.

I keep coming back...

My wife's VW Passat has some pretty strict requirements for engine oil, and Amsoil meets or beats them all. I change the oil in all our vehicles based on the on-board computers telling me when, and so far it comes around about every 10k miles or more. The oil looks nearly as clean coming out as the new oil going in so I am very happy with how it is performing.

Great oil

I drive VW with 2.0T engine. This engine is known for consuming oil that many owners experience. I'm not one of them but I was only running it on amsoil 5w40 as long as I own the car. Sold previous one being 8.5 years old and no consumption between changes. New one is the same thing but it's only 4 years old now. After all I'm very happy about this oil

I run the 5w40 on my built Subaru ej257 Sti I have to say I love this oil works great and had no issues. I also used the 30w breaking in when I was breaking in the motor. I have also have oil analysis done of the 5w40 and came back with nothing but positive comments. I always refer my friends to amsoil.

With a factory oil change recommended every 10k I like having the piece of mind of knowing the oil in my crank case is holding up and not breaking down. I have seen first hand factory recommended castrol start to sludge just before the recommended oil change interval especially in hot climates in NV and AZ.

Great Oil

I use this stuff in my 08 E350 4Matic. I commute 150 miles a day to NYC and back. Stop and go traffic combined with high mileage can take its toll quick so I need Oil that can handle it.
This stuff is great. I feel a noticeable difference in performance. Not to mention the oil is still relatively clean when I change it after 8k miles.
I'd recommend this to anyone looking for good engine protection.

The best of the best

i buy my vehicles and typically keep them for 10 years or 200K miles. most are used for towing and not what you would call lite duty applications. the other vehicles are high performance euro cars. Amsoil is the best of the best and has never failed me. i use the Amsoil products in everything from brake fluid to grease to oil, diff oil etc... none of my vehicles use, consume, or burn oil after 200,000 miles running amsoil. what more proof do i need than that?

When it comes to motor oil I have been all over the map. There are very few oils I will use and after using many that were good and even with friction additives to bring up thier grouping and thier lubricity. I now only use Amzoil.

The only thing I ever put in German cars.

This oil works great in my Mercedes, BMW, and my mom's Audi. Valvetrain got much quieter and can hardly hear any noise from the timing chain. Had the valve cover gaskets replaced recently on a BMW and the head was so clean you could eat out of it. Definitely a great product. Oh and I do my oil changes every 15,000 miles.

I use this in both VW's for the wife and daughter. It meets the required specs for the engine and has reduced the oil consumption that VW 4 cylinder engines are famous for. Combined with the EA oil filter, lab tests show no problems with the 10,000 mile service interval.

Handles freezing cold to really hot!

We run this in our 2006 VW Passat and 2001 VW Eurovan. It's great in both vehicles, especially in our Canadian winter where it gets down to -30 to -35 Celsius. In the winter we drive the van down to Phoenix and the oil handles the outside temperature changes superbly.

Have been using this on 3 different Volvos for years now

The first few changes, at my usual 6000KM (3700 miles) produced oil that looked too clean - I've never extended my oil change intervals before but my last change at 8000KM (5000 miles) barely showed much of a difference, this is real quality stuff.

I run this in my 2.4L naturally aspirated Volvo motors year round, seeing temperatures up to 40° C (104° F) down to -35° C ( - 31° F).

The best product for your car!

Oil is the blood of your car's engine. I you are like me, you want the very best products for
your car. I do all my own maintenance and I am always looking towards technology to help
keep my cars running as well as possible. At first I was skeptical about using an oil that was
not specifically recommended for my car from the manufacture. But when I read all of the comparisons between Amsoil and all the other synthetic oils, I thought I would give it a try.
That was the best decision that I have ever made. My car runs smooth, the spark plugs look clean,
and I actually save money by the longer oil change intervals. Something that I didn't expect was
the improved MPG that resulted as well! I now use Amsoil in all my cars and I couldn't be happier.

Oil made for my motor

I have a 1998 BMW 5 series with 325,000 km, currently. I change the oil every 10,000 km. This is my 5th BMW, and the only one that doesn't leak or burn oil. I just changed the valve cover gasket a couple of months ago, otherwise this is pretty much bone stock original. It is garaged all the time when not being driven. This car even does lapping days at Mosport International Raceway, now known unfortunately as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. I don't even need to top up after a hot run full throttle redline. I can't say it's all because of the oil, but it certainly didn't hurt.

very well made

have used Amsoil for years,with modified big marine and small tubo auto enignes . the engines ran quite and longer than i ever expected. i am using this european formula oil in a 06 vw gti, originally 200 crank HP. i have installed a bigger turbo on it now it pushing 350whp. i am at 93000 miles with these mods and their are no leaking seals and runs as good as the day i bought it. the internal parts are very clean and wear is very low. i have used this oil every oil change since i bought the car.
